Corporate Information
Virtual Soft is the software development arm of Virtual Services. Our development
is segmented between two markets. For our primary UNISYS™ A-Series market,
we develop, market and support UNISYS Terminal Emulation and File Transfer products.
For the Ford™ CAD/CAM market we market and support a PDGS™ hardcopy Utility called
QuickPlot, that allows multiple page EDGS plots to be properly segmented on
separate laser printer sheets. Virtual Soft also develops custom Computer Based
Training (CBT) products that provide a effective alternative or extension
to traditional classroom training.
Company Profile
Virtual Soft was formed in 1990 to develop software for the UNISYS A-Series
market and the local Ford CAD/CAM market. Our first product QuickPlot was released
in 1990 and provided many PDGS CAD/CAM users the first product capable of printing
plots to an inexpensive laser printer.
In 1991, we released PCLink! for DOS a UNISYS T-27 Terminal Emulator. It was then
and still is the most efficient fully featured T-27 emulator for DOS in the
World. It is still widely used by many of our customers, since it operates
effectively not only in DOS, but can also occupy a Window in Windows 3.x, Win 95,
and even NT 3.x/4.x. This compatibility has allowed our users to maximize their
investment and minimize the training costs as they move to new PC platforms.
In 1994, we partnered with Datastorm Technologies, the maker of Procomm Plus™ for
Windows, to release PCLink! for Windows. As ProComm Plus was/is the most popular
communication package in the Windows market, we were able to offer our customers
both benefits of T-27 Emulation with the 35 emulation options provide in ProComm
Plus. PCLink! for Windows was written to add T-27 emulation as a option to
an existing Procomm Plus session.
In 1995, UNISYS asked us to develop a simple to use and install T-27 emulator to
package with their Aquanta PC line. The result was PCLink! Ultra-Lite for Windows.
It is still easy to use and install, but it is hardly "Ultra-Lite". It combines
all the capabilities of our other emulators plus a stand alone Print Manager for
pass-through printing.
In 1997, we released a UNISYS INFOConnect™ compatible interface to all 3rd Party
applications written to the INFOConnect™ API standard. This allows these applications
to operate seamlessly with our Virtual Connect! product.
New Network Installation capabilities are now available in both PCLink! Ultra-Lite
and Virtual Connect!. These applications can be installed once on the network.
The users share the programs and only store connection information and preferences
locally. This feature allows updates to be shared immediately by all users and simpler
installation for administrators.
For 1999 Virtual Soft has released a new HLLAPI compatible interface to 3rd Party
Applications. With this HLLAPI support we are currently qualified with:
- CFI's Laser Pro Lending and Deposit Pro® for Windows.
- Easy System's EasyTeller 32® .
- PTC Bankings - WinTeller® and WinService®.
In Late 1999 we released the first of our 32 Bit Line of products Virtual Connect!
32. Virtual Connect! 32 like Virtual Connect provides seamless communication for
INFOConnect™ applications. Virtual Connect for 16 bit INFOConnect applications
and Virtual Connect! 32 for 32 bit INFOConnect applications. Both Virtual Connect
versions can co-exist on the same workstation for applications using a mixture of
16 and 32 bit as in ITI Desktop or ITI Desktop 32.
In 2000 we developed a Documentation Management System that provides the ability
to produce a variety of similar publications by selecting the desired content from
a database index of topics and chapters. It integrates directly with the Microsoft
Word 2000+.
Also in 2000-2001, we released PCLink 32, Hostlink 32, Print Manager 32 and
updated all existing products as well as qualified them with the latest Microsoft
Operation systems. All our 32 bit products and Ultra-Lite family of products are
optimized for use with Citrix/Terminal Server environments.
In 2002 our new Product Administration Tool debuted with the Annual Maintenance
release. This tool allows administrators to deploy software updates to all
workstations from a central database. User workstations once registered through
the Deployment client installation are updated with the latest software automatically
each time the workstation is started. Registered users may download this Free
software from the support page. Never walk to a workstation again to update
our software.
Over the years we have also developed a line of File Transfer and other products.
Through all of our development we have had one goal:
To provide our customers products and support "better than
they expect".
